Monday

Every day after waking up people take some quiet time to do personal devotions. We’re also encouraged to see the teens and young people get together first thing in the morning to fellowship in God’s Word! Then we officially start our day with a delicious and substantial breakfast before our team morning worship & sharing. On Monday Pastor Enoch shared with us the history and background of the native Canadians and their culture.

We’re thankful to be back to Oujé-Bougoumou for camps this year. With God’s provision we’re able to use the Capissisit Lodge for both the preteens & children camps. Here we are getting ready to leave for Ouje.

Preteens ministry is focusing on rebuilding their image on God based on, of course, the Word of God. We’re using the seven “I Am” statements of Jesus in the book of John. But on the first day we took some time knowing them by drawing & sharing.

Children ministry in introducing Noah and his relationship with God including his calling from God to build an ark and how he obeyed God's commands and carried them out.

Evening gatherings groups:

After a hard day of "work", isn't is nice to see a very nice sunset?

Prayers:
  • We’re so thankful that 90% of the roof job has been finished! Thank God for giving us very good weather.
  • Always appreciate the kitchen team for working so hard from day to night to make sure we’re fed and that we have the energy for ministries.

  • Please continue to pray for our preteens & children camps today as well as safety for the renovation team.

Until next time!

Here came the weekend

Pictures speak a thousand words.

Friday & Saturday…

Group photos from the following two churches with their supporters sending them off

Zion Alliance Church

East Toronto Mandarin Alliance Church

Brothers and sisters got to “work” right after arrival

Prayer of thanksgiving and prayer for lunch and some fun fellowship times

Rainbow always holds a special place in our hearts. We’re so blessed to have seen a double rainbow Saturday night again! After rain and storm there always comes the sun; and the Son of God Lord Jesus Christ always brings us through all the storms in life when we depend and trust in Him. Our hope is truly in the Lord!

Welcoming the newcomers this year

Sunday…

Before attending Sunday worship at the hotel at (Ouje-Bougoumou) Ouje, Pastor Enoch brought the team to visit the town especially the cultural village

It so happened that the past week both the reserves Ouje and Mistissini had their annual family campmeetings where the native brothers and sisters went to join

Prayers:

  • Camps: We’ll be starting the children and preteens camps at Ouje today. It’ll be a two-hour session every day plus about 40-minute each way to drive in and out. Three vans of 20 people will be going in.Camps: We’ll be starting the children and preteens camps at Ouje today. • Weather: It has been wet and gloomy. The renovation team needed to get onto the roof to work so we would need some periods of sunshine. After this prayer was written to prepare this blog entry ahead of time, the sun came out and the team was able to go on the roof to make the fixes. God is so gracious!

  • A few people are feeling unwell due to the cooler weather here and lack of rest. Please pray for good health for everyone.

THANK YOU!

Arrived!

Praise the LORD for bringing us all safely and particularly early (10:15am!) to "Bible School" in Chibougamau, Quebec our accommodation for the next 10 days! For the old timers we're so happy to be back; and for the new members the space feels so comfortable to call it home as brothers and sisters live and serve together and to one another!

We got to "work" right away to set up mattresses and tables and chairs in the common room for meals, meetings and fellowship... etc. Our tummies were satisfied with the loving touch from the kitchen team. Some problems with the washrooms and showers but the renovation team got to them even before lunch!

"How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1

More pictures to come. Stay tuned and stay blessed!

Good morning!

Thank God for keeping us safe during the night of darkness. We just arrived at our last stop McD for breakfast. Bonjour!

2018 Trip - One Week to Go!

The JSTM team is very grateful and humbled for yet another year of blessed opportunity to travel to Chibougamau/Oujé-Bougoumou, Quebec to serve the Canadian natives in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. But we cannot go in peace and strength without your prayers.

Matthew 5:14-16 "14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

We are called to be the light of the world. Please pray that each member is first shone with the light of Jesus Christ - in healing, encouragement, comfort, conviction of sin, repentance, peace... So that we can reflect the Light in the darkness.

Our Mission ~ Matthew 28:19-20 "19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

The rainbow 🌈 isn't only a sign that God's put in the sky as the promise stated in Genesis 9; it's also a reminder for us today the covenant of love made between the LORD and us that He is indeed our God and we are His people in the redemption of Jesus Christ. To God we're His children; in Christ we are brothers and sisters; and together we are one Body of Christ.

Our Practice ~ Ephesians 4:2-3 "2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

We'll be leaving on Friday July 27th at about 8:00pm. You're welcome to come to Scarborough Chinese Alliance Church @ 139 Silver Star Blvd, Scarborough at 7:30pm to pray with us and send us off! It'll take us about 15 hours of driving with a few breaks in between to get there.

Prayers needed:
  • Safety and weather and health
  • 5 ministries: Children, Kitchen, Preteens, Renovation, Worship
  • Unity in Christ serving with one another, a humble heart to learn, wisdom and patience to solve problems & issues
  • Hearts of the children/preteens whom we serve at the week of Bible camp (30/7-3/8) as well as anyone else with whom we cross path
  • Protection from the Devil as this is a spiritual warfare
  • Fellowship with God and with one another

Meet our 2018 team (with a few missing from this group photo)

Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in us... To God be the Glory!
