Sunday July 19

We safely arrived at the Bible College yesterday just before noon. It was an immediate flurry of unpacking and the amazing Kitchen Team was unpacked and cooking within minutes! We've already enjoyed three delicious meals from them. Looking forward to the many more planned for the week!
The Bible College we are staying at for the next week and some of the mini cabins (on the right) that the reno team will be fixing.

Go Kitchen Team go! Austen is the youngest member of our Kitchen Team.

Presenting Austen!

Delicious chicken anyone?

The views from the College are beautiful, we are right on a little lake surrounded by beautiful trees and fresh air. It is a treat for all of us Torontonians to be away from our phones and computers (mainly because we are forced to because of no connection, but still!) and enjoy the beautiful scenes in our beautiful country and this beautiful province of Quebec that God has created.

Our view from the porch of the Bible College.

Carina took a morning shot as we we waking up this morning!

The Reno Team took a tour of the place to identify the areas of need this year. Some of the mini cabins outside of the college are in need of some work as well as some other projects to do in the Bible College such fixing the water tank and fixing the roof to name a few. More updates and photos from this amazing team will follow!

The Worship Team led us in worship last night and this morning at the Bible College as well as in Ouje-Bougoumou for a Sunday morning service. This team is full of heart and have led our team into beautiful times of worship. They will continue to do this each morning for us. This week they will also be heading to Mistissini week to lead a service as well.

Worship on Saturday night led by our Worship Team.

The Worship Team practicing in Ouje this morning before the people came.

The Children's Team met in Ouje-Bougoumou this morning to teach Freida's Sunday School children. The children helped us be detectives and find out "clues" from the Bible to help us understand where we came from! This week's theme is "Egypt Files" - where "clues" from the Bible are uncovered and with the help of Chief Detectives and Investigators. We have a  day theme planned for the five days we'll be there. More updates to follow!

Beka leading the Sunday school class, just before the Detectives came in to do their drama (Russel and Valiant) see below!

Our Lead Detectives for the day - Russel and Valiant! Leading the children to discover the "clues" in the Bible.

The Teen's Team will also be leading a five day program in Mistissini starting tomorrow. They have planned games to build community as well as learning truths in God's word through drama and song. Will update with some photos and stories in the coming days!

Prayer Requests:
  • Thank you for a safe drive for all 7 vans and occupants. We weren't met with one road problem on the way here.
  • Thank you for the team and unity that has already formed in two days.
  • Pray for the drive to Mistissini each day as it is approximately one hour there and one hour back. Continue to pray for safety as we travel!
  • Pray for safety for our Reno team as they go up on the roof and put themselves in a wee bit of danger each day.
  • Pray a blessing over the kitchen team as they continue to cook and prepare for 47 people, 3 times a day and also safety in the kitchen.
  • Pray for the Children's and Teen's team as they begin their 5 day program tomorrow!
