Nearing the end of the week!

Today the Kitchen Team cooked Congee for breakfast, fried rice and delicious meat patties for lunch and for dinner...(drum roll please)....SUSHI! We were spoiled with beautifully wrapped and homemade sushi. We also had miso soup and pork chops. This team not only delivers delicious food, but beautiful food as well!

The Reno Team painted the inside of one of the smaller cabins, it was in much need of a makeover! They headed to Chibougamou to dump the garbage, old mattresses and other scraps. Lots to get ride of! They purchased some needed materials from town and came back to replace two tires on the trailer. They also finished some electrical work inside one of the cabins. Some of the jobs have been dangerous (unexpected nails jutting from the ceiling, climbing up high ladders, doing work on the roof etc.) But they have still managed to stay safe. Please continue to pray for strength and safety for them!

The Worship Team led worship last night at the Tent Meeting. The Guest Speaker spoke about how God leads people and unfolds things in our lives. When we step out and take a that step of faith, He meets us where we're at. We move, He moves. PM's heart was stirred and he went forward to the alter call which he felt was his way of taking that next step that the Speaker was talking about.

Team 2 from the Children's Team headed into Ouje to hang with the kiddies. The kids are always waiting for the team to arrive and let us know how late we are each day. We aim to be there for 2pm and they know this, so when we arrived at 2:13pm the first thing they say is "you're 13 minutes late!" It's really cute. The Team played in the playground for most of the afternoon and played a game of tag called "Grounders" with the kids.
In the evening Team 1 led the night and taught the kids about having a servant attitude like Jesus. We had a story time and the kids listened intently to the story of Jesus washing his disciple's feet straight from the Bible. We followed up with a skit where "good kid" Beka offered to wash "bad kid" Julie's stinky lunch box. The kids seem to be really grasping the message of "having the same attitude as Jesus" which has been the theme verse for the week. (Philippians 2:5 and 7)

The Teen's Team had two programs. One from 8:00pm-9:00pm with the younger teens where they played the TV Game Show "Minute to Win It." From 9pm-10:30pm the older Teens had a program and played "Taboo." Kenneth took some of the teens for a drive around the Reserve and had a bonding time that way with the teens. As always, there were lots of laughs. The night ended with snacks and a spontaneous game of "Stella-Ella-Olla." The teens like to just hang around the Team it seems, which is nice. It's neat to see the connections that are being made.

Continue to pray for us as we prepare for the last few days here. We've begun preparation for "Super Saturday" which is a carnival/fair type of event we hold on the last Saturday of our stay every year.

Until next time,

JSTM

P.S Once we are back in Toronto, all of these blogs will be updated with pictures!!!
